BOOKS CLOSED

Coastal Immunology and Allergy Clinic

HAVE CLOSED OUR BOOKS TO NEW PATIENTS AND WILL REVIEW DECISION MID 2021

It is with regret that we advise Coastal Immunology and Allergy Clinic has closed our books to all new patients for the time being.

This has been a difficult decision to make, as we are cognisant of the impact it will have on unwell patients in our local community.

Unfortunately, the health of many of our current patients has deteriorated during recent months due to Covid-19 related circumstances.

This has placed a significant burden on our doctors and staff, with most patients requiring extra phone and consultation time, and more complex clinical care.

The decision to open our books again will be reviewed mid 2021.

The decision will be based on our current patient’s health, clinic complexities and Government Covid-19 advice.

We apologise for any difficulties this may cause patients.

We will continue to see new patients who fall under the following categories:

  • Children 12 months and under
  • Hospitalisation where anaphylaxis has occurred and adrenaline administered or an EpiPen given.
  • Critically ill and complex suspected autoimmune cases, e.g. vasculitis

We ask that your medical doctor contact us by telephone to discuss triage.

We recommend going to the ASCIA WEBSITE to obtain information regarding other immunologists who may be able to assist with your care.

Please do not send patients to our rooms during this time. Please inform your patients of the current situation.

We will post further information as the situation changes.

We thank you in advance for your patience and understanding.

Yours sincerely,

The Coastal Immunology Team.
