Melissa is both an APD (Accredited Practicing Dietician) and an AN (Accredited Nutritionist). Her qualifications include a Bachelor of Applied Science (Nutrition and Dietetics) from University of Newcastle, graduating in 1998, as well as a Bachelor of Science (Human Movement and Psychology) from the University of Wollongong from which she graduated in 2003.
From 1999 to 2009 Melissa worked with Gosford District Hospital servicing renal, oncology, Paediatric, ICU, cardiac, medical and surgical wards in both an inpatient and outpatient capacity.
From 2009 to 2013 Melissa was Consultant Clinical Dietician for various GP private practices.
Since 2011 she has provided clinical nutrition services to patients at Berkeley Vale Private Hospital, and since 2016 Melissa has provided safe and effective nutrition care to Gosford Private Hospital patients in ICU, Medical, Endoscopy and Orthopedic wards.
Melissa has provided consultant nutritional advice to Coastal Immunology and allergy clinic for patients with allergies and food intolerances since 2011. Melissa is a member of the Dieticians Association of Australia and holds ASCIA Associate Membership.
Melissa is interested in all areas of diet and nutrition with a particular interest in food intolerances, FODMAP/coeliac requirements, food allergies and eating behaviours.
In her spare time, Melissa can be found fishing and camping with her husband and three exuberant boys.
